Free Salsa Workshop Series at Southern New Hampshire University
Monday nights in November we are running a free Salsa workshop series at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester from 7:30-9pm for their students. Last night was our first workshop and the students who came had a blast learning to dance with us.
Salsa Sabor was founded with the goal of introducing as many people as possible to the fun and benefits of salsa dancing. Salsa Sabor is all about building our dance community. To this end we are launching a wider series of outreach programs and demonstrations at community events in the coming months. If you have a community event or work at a local school we would love to talk with you about coming in to share our love of salsa with you. Please email us at CopacabanaSalsaNight@Gmail.com.
We start off our lessons with some footwork, teaching the salsa basic steps that will be used in partnering later on.
We learn about connecting with our dance partner, and talk about leading/following on the social dance floor.
Keeping the lessons fun and light, we work our way through the basics of parternering, right turn, left turn, cross body lead, inside turns and outside turns.
We always love to see how quickly people pick up and have fun with salsa dancing. Looking forward to next Monday night and sharing more salsa with the students at SNHU.
